Voice AI FAQ: pricing, security, CRM and human handover
The useful answer is not “yes, it can.” It is what happens when the caller is busy, the CRM is incomplete, the policy is sensitive or the conversation needs a person. Here are the questions operations teams ask before they put a production AI agent on the line.
After the form, DRING calls in two minutes, identifies itself and qualifies your need. See the callback flow.
DRING completes the next step, records the result and leaves your team with a clear action.
Find the answer your team needs.
Choose the part of the operation that is carrying the most weight. We explain the practical detail, the boundary and the next decision.
Choose the right starting point.
The right package follows the work: how many workflows you run, how much traffic they carry and how much support your team expects.
We do not know our volume yet. Which package should we start with?+
Start with the first workflow you want to improve, not a guessed call count. Starter fits a first workflow. Pro adds live transfer, voicemail drop and CRM to the same workflow. Business runs two workflows side by side, Scale runs three with enterprise support, and Enterprise runs four at the highest volume, for multiple teams, a custom deployment or a defined support and SLA model. We size the included time around your real busiest hours and review it as the operation grows.
What exactly do we pay for?+
A monthly subscription package. It includes an amount of conversation time, measured by the second, plus the agents, the models, after-call analysis, testing and updates. Usage above the package is billed at the package's own unit rate, with no penalty tariff. An annual commitment takes 10% off the price, and paying the year upfront takes 20% off. The included amount is written into your proposal, so you know the monthly budget before launch.
What changes between the five packages?+
Starter, Pro, Business, Scale and Enterprise run on the same tested foundation. What grows is the included conversation time, the calls you can take at the same time, the number of agent types and the support model. We recommend a package from the real operating shape, not from a feature checklist. See the package ladder.
Can we start with one agent and expand later?+
Yes. A focused first agent is often the fastest way to learn which calls should be automated and which should stay with people. You can move up as traffic, workflows, languages or teams grow, and the next package is chosen from live results.
What happens if our monthly demand goes up or down?+
We look at seasonality, peak hours and campaign windows instead of forcing every month into the same shape. Unused balance carries over for up to 2 months, so a quiet month is not lost. A busy month is billed at your package's unit rate, with no penalty tariff. If your busiest hour needs more calls at the same time than the package includes, the proposal adds capacity or moves you up a package, and the package is reviewed when the operating pattern changes.
How many languages and channels can a DRING agent cover?+
62 languages available, 10 live today; yours is validated before launch. Voice, WhatsApp, SMS and email are covered, and the accent, vocabulary and channel are tested on your actual workflow. The same knowledge, tone and context then carry across the channels you use.
How are implementation and package scope decided?+
The recommendation follows expected usage, concurrent calls, agent or workflow count, analytics depth, support needs and integration complexity. The DRING API is standard in every package, and Connect is the standard path into a common CRM, priced on its own; niche systems or non-standard development are assessed and documented before a proposal is final. Use the package guide before submitting a brief.
Is setup or integration charged separately?+
There is no setup fee, and each agent type gets 4 free revisions during the build. Two things are priced separately: Connect CRM, with a one-time setup fee and a monthly fee, and a custom integration for a niche or non-standard system, assessed and quoted before work starts. The DRING API and its webhooks are standard in every package. See what setup includes.
How fast can an agent go live?+
Live in a week. DRING builds the agent, runs it through 1,000 to 10,000 simulated conversations built for your company, then releases it in stages. Your team reviews the brief and the test results.
Make every conversation finish somewhere useful.
The point is not to make your phone sound busy. It is to resolve the request, protect the customer experience and leave the next step visible.
What does a DRING agent actually take over?+
It takes on the repeatable part of a workflow: answering common support questions, checking order or account status, qualifying a lead, booking an appointment, confirming a delivery, running a survey or collecting the information a human needs next. The scope is defined with your team, so the agent knows what it can complete and when to stop.
What if the caller needs a person?+
The agent hands the case to your team with the conversation attached: why the person called and what has been collected. From the Pro package up, it can also transfer the live call. A caller can always ask for a person, and the agent hands over when a request is sensitive, complex or out of policy.
Will customers have to repeat themselves after a handover?+
No, not by design. The handover path passes the reason for the call and the information already collected, so the human starts with context instead of another blank introduction. The exact transfer fields are agreed during the workflow design.
Can the agent continue the work after the call?+
Yes. A completed call can trigger a CRM update, calendar action, SMS or WhatsApp follow-up, email, task or webhook. The useful measure is what the conversation changes in your operation, not only what it says out loud.
Can it handle interruptions, silence and difficult callers?+
Those cases are part of the test plan. We simulate interruptions, unclear answers, silence, policy traps and emotional moments before launch, then score live calls against the agreed outcome. If the safe path is uncertain, the agent asks, pauses or hands over rather than inventing an answer.
Can it call back or retry someone who did not answer?+
For outbound workflows, retry rules and calling windows are defined with your team. The campaign can respect consent, local time, do-not-call requirements and a clear maximum number of attempts, with every disposition written back for follow-up.
Keep your stack. Connect the outcome.
A voice agent only earns its place when the result reaches the systems your team already uses.
Can DRING work with our current CRM or helpdesk?+
Usually, yes; we choose the setup path from your existing connection and workflow. DRING can configure a supported integration and support the launch. If a custom API or webhook is needed, your team can build it against the fields and permissions we define together, or DRING builds it as separately quoted work. A short call with a DRING Analyst maps the right route. See available connections.
What is written back after a call?+
The record can include the call outcome, structured fields, transcript, sentiment, reason for handover, next action and any workflow-specific values. Your team decides which fields matter; the agent does not leave a transcript without an operational conclusion.
Do we need to replace our telephony?+
No. DRING connects to your existing SIP, PBX or routing setup. Your carrier or telecom partner provides the numbers; DRING connects them and manages the routing and setup. Carrier and SMS charges stay with your carrier. See the telephony layer.
Can we launch without a large engineering project?+
That is the goal. We define one workflow, connect only the systems it needs, test the edge cases and roll traffic out in stages. Your team brings the business rules and access; DRING handles the agent configuration, orchestration, evaluation and production monitoring.
Can one customer record follow a caller across channels?+
Yes, when the connected systems expose the required identity and history. Phone, SMS, WhatsApp and email can use the same workflow context, so the next interaction starts from the last known outcome instead of asking the same questions again.
Can we control what the agent is allowed to do?+
Yes. Tools, permissions, policies, transfer rules, calling windows and write actions are scoped per agent. Releases go through testing and approval, and your operators can monitor, pause or change the workflow without giving the agent unrestricted access to your systems.
Measure the agent like an operator would.
Natural conversation matters. Reliable outcomes, clear control and evidence after launch matter more.
How do you test an agent before it goes live?+
We run the agent through workflow simulations, including interruptions, difficult callers, policy traps and handover cases. The results are reviewed against the agreed scorecard, and the agent moves through a controlled rollout only when the required checks are green.
How do you know whether the agent is improving?+
Production calls can be scored for resolution, policy adherence, handover quality and delivery signals, with sentiment as a label. Regression checks compare the live agent with the previous release, while real conversation feedback tells us what to improve next.
What do the current production metrics mean?+
They are platform-wide figures. DRING handles about 300,000 customer conversations a month, inbound and outbound, and more than 10,000 agent conversation minutes a day. Across current live workloads, about 72% of conversations reach a resolution. On selected deployments, operating cost has been up to 81% lower than the human-only baseline the customer agreed. Targets for your own workflow are set in its scope.
How do you protect call recordings and customer data?+
Deployments are configured against the six tested security standards, and production feedback is reviewed against your agent's goals and turned into controlled releases under the data rules agreed for your operation. Where data is processed and how long it is kept are documented for your deployment; see retention and rights.
Can we choose the voice, language and tone?+
Yes. We shape the voice, opening, pacing, language, escalation style and policy around your brand and audience. DRING supports 62 languages across voice, WhatsApp, SMS and email, and yours is validated before launch; the voice and conversation design is reviewed for the workflow rather than translated word for word.
Who owns the customer relationship in the partner program?+
It depends on the partner model. A Strategic Introducer makes the introduction, and DRING owns the customer. A GTM Partner owns the relationship and sells under the DRING brand and contract. Managed White-Label and White-Label Operator partners own the customer business under their own brand. See the four models.
What do we get after the first conversation with DRING?+
You leave with a clear first-agent scope: the workflow, what the agent will and will not do, the systems it needs, the success metrics, the launch stages and the package recommendation. The next step should feel specific enough to review with operations, IT and finance.
Still have a question that belongs in the workflow?
Submit context and consent for a callback. DRING calls in two minutes, identifies itself and answers the operational question behind your first workflow.
